Dear Pittman family,
I never knew Jim personally, but I had Mrs. Pittman as my 2nd and 5th grade teacher at Hidden Forest Elementary and will never forget how proud she was of her children. I always loved hearing about Jim because he played football with two of my older brothers during his time at Churchill. I know just from the many updates we were given in class what a treasure Jim was to you and it sounds from these loving condolences that he has positively influenced so, so many. I am praying for you in this difficult period. Mrs. Pittman, you definitely impacted me through your teaching and it sounds as if you passed that invaluable trait on to your beloved son. All of my love and prayers to the Pittman family.

I was on a high this morning looking back through the Churchill Year Book. For some reason I wanted to remember all those great times. I stopped on the back page that was dedicated to Jim, Jim Guy, Richard and Daniel. Those guys were basically the male leaders of our class. All I could do was smile and remember all the great years. Then I was sadden a few hours later when I learned that Jim had passed. I am so sorry for your loss, but rejoice in knowing that he is with our Savior now. My prayers pour out to his family and close friends. May the Lord be with you always.

They day I told him I signed with TCU, he was so excited you could swear it was his signing day. He made my time at Navarro so special. Your son was a great man, and I owe a lot of my sucess from college to my time in the NFL to your son. I'm praying for peace and comfort for your family during this time.

Dear Mr & Mrs Pittman, Andrew & Christine -
I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Jim. His fun-loving sense of humor, love of life, friends, family and sports was an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. I have many fond memories from Churchill that involve Jim and some sort of practical joke or just a great guy with a huge smile on his face. He will be missed. I pray that the Lord will give you strength and peace during this difficult time. We will miss Jim but will hold him high in our hearts forever.

Because of my grandson, Dayne Albright, I knew Jim through those Churchill football days. My husband, Randy, and I drove from Bullard to S.A. for all of Dayne's games those last two years. Then when he came to TJC, we got to see he and Jim compete against each other.
May the Peace of God comfort you and let all the happy memories fill your hearts. God Bless you in these days ahead.

Dear Pittman Family,

Jimmy and I attended Churchill and played football together, but we actually met several years before that at a YMCA basketball practice, as his little brother Andrew and my little brother Ben played on the same team.

I remember Jimmy as a fun-loving guy who was not afraid to work hard. I see from the other posts that the Lord used his passion and drive to accomplish many great things in his adult life. As a teacher myself, I really appreciate what the Lord has used him to do as a mentor.

From my natural perspective, I say that I grieve with you and that he will be tremendously missed. From the perspective of truth, I rejoice that he is home with His Savior, and that one day, those of us who profess and possess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior will be reunited with Jim forever, and none of us will ever deal with loss or pain again.

Until then, I will be praying that you lean on Jesus and His promises, and thanking our Savior with you that death has been defeated. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sarah, Alec & Andrew,
Jim's eyes are still twinkling, but now all of the world can see them. He is the brightest star that twinkles above us all, he is the warmest ray of sunshine that comforts our souls. He will be missed by so many, but will now be spreading his love all over the world to those who knew him and those who did not. Jim was such a special young man...full of fun, mischief and life...he was a good friend to so many. I can't imagine anyone not loving him. I have not seen him in years, but that did not change how I felt about him... he was a ray of sunshine with a twinkle in his eyes. God must have needed him for a special mission and have loved him so much to have taken him without a whimper...softly pulling him to His side. Nothing will replace him, only your faith will get you though this rocky time. I will pray for all of you, that's really all any of us can do. I hope you are comforted knowing so many were touched by your sweet, sweet son & brother.

Sarah, Alec, Andrew, Christine and family,
My heart is breaking for you all. I lift you all up in prayer that God will grant you peace through your wonderful memories with Jim and know that the grave is overwhelmed by the love of Christ. May you find comfort in knowing Jim is now with his maker in Heaven. I wish I could be there on Wednesday. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and my heart is heavy with sorrow. He will never be forgotten.
Love and hugs to all of you,
Jaclyn

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and the people closest with Jim. I met Jim a couple of years ago when he joined our summer golf league on Sundays. He was always upbeat and great to be around. If there was a more "likeable" guy out there, I have yet to meet them. He was a caring person with a big heart. Jim tried his best to help me with employment when I lost my job and he became a person I could talk to and trust. He had no obligation to help me but that is a testament to who he really was. I never had the opportunity to meet Jim's family but my prayers are with you.

Dear Pittman family,

We are all extremely saddened by the shocking news of Jim's passing. I remember Jim so well and so fondly from those high school years. What a wonderfuly guy he was, with such a fun spirit.

I can't imagine the heartache you are experiencing at this time. Please know that Jim will always be remembered and will have a special place in our hearts.

We look forward to a glorious reunion with Jim when Christ makes "all things new" and we enter the everlasting life that Jim is experiencing. For now, we grieve and mourn--but with hope in the faithfulness of God.

While this loss does not make sense to us, we must trust in the all knowing and loving God, who certainly knows what it is like to weep at the loss of a loved one (John 11:35). I am certain that all will be made clear when we get to see Jim, and our Saviour, face-to-face. Isaiah 55:8-9 8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

We now hasten the day of the Lord like never before. Revelation 22:20 20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Peace and Love from the Masons,

Steve

I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Jimmy was a wonderful, WONDERFUL man. He was always so kind to me. He was truly a man of God, an angel placed on earth for a short while.

Alec, Sarah & Andrew, I can't believe I'm actually having to write this....Jim was such a solid guy and I will always remember his laugh and how much he enjoyed life. I remember all of our good times at the Deerfield house like it was only a few days ago. I pray that in someway the Lord helps you all through this terrible time.

It is with deep sadness that I write these words Jim was an amazing person and I will miss him more than I can say. He truly made a difference in my life and I will forever be grateful for his loving friendship. I am a better person for having known him, and there will always be a special place for him in my heart. Dearest Sarah, Alec, and Andrew,
I am bereft at this shocking news. My heart is breaking for all of you and you are in Charles and my thoughts and prayers. We pray for courage, comfort and strength to face the days ahead and for the tomorrows that will never come.

Please express our condolences, also, to your wife, Andrew, and to Jim's fiancee. I'm in Portugal with Fara to meet her fiance's parents and we are weeping for you all. Jim was a wonderful young man whom many admired and mirrored. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

May God wrap His loving arms around you and give you peace.
Much love to all,

I have had the privilege of working with Jim for the past three years. More important than working though,I had found a true friend. To Sarah and Alex...you raised an awesome son and you instilled in him all of the qualities that many parents just hope and pray their children will have. His love for you both was undeniable and I sincerely hope that you can find some solace in knowing how many people loved and cared about Jim. To Andrew...you will always be his "little brother" that he loved, was so proud of and always wanted to protect. To Christine...the love of his life and his excitement of your upcoming wedding was a joy to watch. Jim was one of a kind and the world was a better place because of him. I know my world was a better place because of him and I will miss him deeply.

Please know that we grieve with you and honor his memory.

It just doesn't seem right that a parent should have to bury a child. It should be the other way around. Having lived through the loss of a son myself, I know how difficult this time is for you and your family. I also know that the pain will be there for a long time, but it will get better. You just have to be thankful for all the great times you had together. My prayers are with you. Let me know if there is ever anything I can do for you and your family. Hang in there my friend.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pittman, Andrew, and Christine,
Our hearts are breaking for you all. We are devasted at the loss of a dear friend, and can't begin to imagine the pain of loosing a son, a big brother, and a fiance. Jim was a dear, loyal, and beloved friend to Jim Guy for the past 20 years, and a holds a special place in our hearts and lives. It is still so hard to believe he is gone. We were just talking with him and sharing in his excitement about booking a band for the wedding. He was so full of life and energy; so full of love for his family and friends. He was truly a delight to know, and a blessing in our lives. We love him and you all dearly. Our comfort lies in the countless wonderful memories we have of him, and in knowing he is with the Lord and we will meet again. We are praying that God comfort you with His unfailing love; that He will flood your mind and hearts with His peace.

We are stunned. We are sad. We grieve with you and pray for you.

Our God and God of all who have gone before us, author of life and death, we turn to You at this time of great grief. We turn to you in trust and pray that Jim be granted perfect rest in Your sheltering presence. Things may have been left unfinished in his life, yet we know also the good that he tried to do. May those acts of goodness continue to give meaning to our lives and comfort to the Pittman family.
